February Update!!!

posted Jan 6, 2012, 11:41 PM by Brent Bowers

UPDATES TO THE WEBSITE!!!

-         YOU CAN NOW ENTER AND PAY ONLINE!!! - Using a PayPal account, you can now submit your entry as well as pay on our website!!! This method of entry carries all the same stipulations as the others. YOU MUST ENTER 72 HOURS IN ADVANCES TO RECEIVE THE “EARLY BIRD” DISCOUNT OF $20!!! Your submission will be time stamped and if that time of submission reads less than 72 hours until the event start time, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE DISCOUNT! I know I’m hard about that but it’s crucial for me to get as many prepaid entries as possible so I can be prepared as well as the host bowling center.

-         ALL-STAR TEAM PAGE!!! – If you visit the website (www.bowersbowlingtour.com), you will now find a page on the left hand side labeled “All-Star Team”. This page will have current point standings of all BBT members and explain the selection process of the end of year BBT All-Star Team!!! This team will be comprised of 5 individuals. Ranked 1 through 5, 1st place in total points will receive $500, a trophy & the coveted title of 2012 BBT Most Valuable Player! 2nd = $400, 3rd = $300, 4th = $200, 5th = $100. Everyone on the All-Star will also receive a trophy. Points for the all star team are awarded at each event to the top 10 finishers. 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd receives 9, 3rd receives 8, etc.

-         TOP RECRUITER PAGE!!! – Also on the website, you will now see a page on the left titled “Top Recruiter”. This page will keep a running total of how many recruits each person has brought to the BBT. The person who has recruited the most new BBT bowlers at the end of the season will be rewarded in August with $100 cash and a beautiful trophy! The recruitment of new bowlers is a very important piece of growing the BBT and providing better tournaments for Wichita area bowlers!

-         “AL BOWERS” SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD PAGE!!! – This page will also be listed on the left of the home page and will be a place of recognition for BBT Sportsmanship Award Recipients. At the last event of the year in June, ballots will be handed out and the bowlers at that event will be asked to chose 3 names from the entire list of BBT members who they think have shown great sportsmanship and integrity during our events. This award will also be presented at the first BBT event of next year in August. The winner will receive $100 cash and a beautiful trophy.

Issues with August BBT videos...

posted Oct 9, 2011, 12:10 PM by Brent Bowers

Sorry everyone, I'm doing my best to upload the video finals from the August BBT but YouTube doesn't seem to like the way I'm doing it. Until I can get it figured out, I ask for your patience...

Thanks you,

Brent Bowers

My apologies for the delay...

Terribly sorry to everyone who have been chomping at the bit with anxiety about BBT updates... Updates to the website, financial report, video finals, etc. all to come as soon as possible. Brent's schedule has been incredibly busy and he hit a small speed bump Friday when he spilled soda all over his computer keyboard... When time permits, updates will come... Thank you so much for your patience

What to do next???

posted Aug 3, 2011, 10:57 PM by Bowl Wichita   [ updated Aug 5, 2011, 6:24 PM ]

I have put a lot of thought into the creation of this tour and this website and now, at 12:58am on August 4th 2011, after countless hours, the site has gone live and I sit here at my kitchen table wondering... "what should I do next?". Hopefully future BBT members and supporters won't be upset if I take a few days off to recuperate. I will be delivering entry forms to the bowling centers this weekend (8/6 & 8/7) but I plan to sit back and take a short break from all of this during the next week. Hopefully during that time you all will be sending in your entry forms. I'll try my best to stay away from the website and let my mind start to slow down before getting it pumped up again for the first BBT event August 21st at Northrock Lanes. I can't tell you how many hours of sleep in the past month I have lost just laying in bed thinking about this tour and its future and praying that I have what it takes to keep this going and rejuvenate competitive bowling in the city of Wichita.

The idea behind Bowers Bowling Tour has been floating around in my head for many years and I was unsure if I would ever be able to pull the trigger. It came to me a few weeks ago while bowling in Joe Ruocco's Thursday Night Scratch League, it was time to make it happen! This is what has developed from all those years of thought and my loose trigger finger. Bowers Bowling Tour has begun and I look forward to it's future! I hope that you do too!

Until next time...
